Shabnam Sahay

Hi, I'm Shabnam!

I'm a first-year Ph.D. student in the Quantitative and Computational Biology program at Princeton. My interests currently lie in developmental biology and collective cellular behaviours.

I completed my B.Tech. at IIT Bombay, where I did my bachelor's thesis with Prof. Ganesh Viswanathan. I was also part of Prof. Shaon Chakrabarti's lab in the Simons Centre at the National Centre for Biological Sciences. Through internships, I have been fortunate to work with Prof. Sandip Kar at IIT Bombay, Dr. Anton Goloborodko at the Vienna BioCenter, and Prof. Rong Li at the Mechanobiology Institute as well. Prior to joining Princeton, I also spent a year at Microsoft as a software engineer.

When not working, you may find me taking a long walk, trying out new recipes, learning or choreographing yet another dance, or reading a novel. Please feel free to get in touch!
